a little bit of progess each day and vision I believe will be beautiful by Spring

small progress I see the future is brighter.

small progress I see the future is brighter.

WP_001289I sometimes feel I will do anything to get this vision of the Farm complete.  Scrapping roofing today with a nice big back ache tonight still makes me smile.  All I see is the orchard with the shed painted in joyful spring colors, herb and flower gardens at your feet. The garden gates will open for people coming into the orchard to the little farm stand to get there weeks produce, eggs, or just sit and view the mountain and visit or pick up maybe whatever value added items I have pickled, canned, baked, or jammed… All I see while working is painting in my mind the completion… Isn’t that how we got were we are now… Manifesting your destiny… whether you meant to or not… you did – if you don’t like it change it, if you love it keep believing and doing anything even little things to get there.  A place that makes you feel good by just being… that is what this will be.

Windy nights in the valley…. John Lennon tree and children growing up!

My son is turning 25 tomorrow – I still feel pretty young even in my mid 40’s as I was young when I had him… a mere 20 years old by some back in the day standards that seems a normal age to bear a child… Now that I have 2 children in their 20’s I feel that it is a very young age to be a parent and I encourage other young couples newlyweds to just enjoy and wait out their life… until their 30’s I say then have children!  I currently have an 8 year old girl also at the age of 45 and I am a much better parent in my 40’s than I’m sure I was in my 20’s…  I love them all the same I’m sure I am a more relaxed parent than before  and simple… The things that are important in life you realize more at an age when you have come so far now and figured life out a bit by trial and error that you want that peace and joy and simplicity that you might not have searched for in your youth…  How do we teach our children about that value of  ‘one day at a time ‘ while we want to protect them from our mistakes and faults…  Now that would rob them of their experiences but what we hope is to save them sorrow… Teaching them just a presence of staying in the moment…. The importance of being present in your relationships, whether your children, spouse, friends or career. To just being there and really feeling life… That to me is of the most important step in this day by day journey still as I learn even yes at 45 of myself..

Take time to listen to the rain fall, the winds blow the chimes on your porch  the children in your life to hear and smile at their laughter… the stories and wisdom of the elders in your family, I’m not saying ‘old folks’ I’m saying the elders of such youth as 45 like me who have some small advice for the experiences of  life that yes you want to protect them from….. at this point I’ve finally caught onto a few things smarter faster and wiser quicker So may I have another 45 years please?! lol!

Blessings, Jenni

Back home after a little needed vacation…. to bigger chicks, progress on the mobile coop and seedlings

I am truly a homebody after leaving the farm for 5 days to go skiing (my 1 time a year ski trip) Colorado and Arizona was so beautiful.  However I was so excited to get back home and see my chicks, Hens, dogs, and greenhouse and oh yes children!  My one time I get to have a truly adult vacation with friends.  I came home to such a green and beautiful state and so much life at the farm.  The chicks seem to have grown 3 inches along with newly sprouting seeds that I had just planted the prior week.  While vacationing I had made my “wish list” of things to get done the following week as my better half stayed in Arizona for the ‘man time’ hunting Javelina in the deserts there.  This is the part of the trip I am good with moving on and having my ‘girl’ time at home – sometimes absence makes the heart well is good! However my list of to do’s is longer than I probably have numbered days… and I see the rains coming so I will just be a part of the system and be out there finishing what was started before I left!  A new mobile coop for the 61 hens who are anxious for their new housing, the compost bin roofs, rain-barrels to complete and pruning getting my logo and sign completed, still needing time for learning the web side of life, bookwork,  staying on-top of things this is a new year! That being said like many others who do whatever work a career a household, or school, there are never enough hours in a farming girls life!

How do you all do the web blogs, sites, and computer stuff and run a farm when really if you are like me the computer is the least priority – it is all about the dirt, the dream and the daily chores??  I’d love to hear what you do to accomplish this cuz I am honestly a one girl show – my other half has a ‘city’ job and career so to speak… this is currently all mine is it possible to run a farm business … and still keep up a house, be a full time mom, market myself and keep laundry up!!! The President speech… and life…

farm mornings 242After hours of listening to the debating views and subjects… I pulled from the whole varies topics… “We were not sent here to be perfect… we were sent here to make a difference”.  These are part of my own words not as spoken by tonight’s speech…. As Americans we are Citizens  it is how we are made what we are entitled to believe how we behave and taking that to our daily actions living within our own gut. All of us begin waking each day how we interface with one another to make a choice of setting a positive chain and creating a difference in our outcome and individualism.  Much like the crystals that form on this  ice flower to become a piece of the earth cell by cell this takes time… This to me in a whole creates the U.S.A.  person by person….

Tomorrow is more seed planting lettuce and brocolli

I’m so inspired by the seeds I planted just a few weeks ago that are standing strong at 3″ tall already!  Tomorrow is a whole new spectrum of veggies lettuce and broccoli seeds! Also the new 61 chicks that are starting to puff out their feathers and begin their personalities of who they are and how they demand attention!  I get such joy of watching them and seeing how much they are eating and drinking and growing each day!  Like children these little creatures begin…. only really they grow so much slower in reality than our children, they grow before our eyes… and we cherish the smallness and little moments…. or at least I do…
